Quadrate lobe of liver

A quadrangular area of the visceral surface of the liver, bounded by umbilical fissure on the left side, the fossa for the gallbladder on the right side, the porta hepatis superiorly and posteriorly, and the inferior border of the liver anteriorly and inferiorly; it is called a “lobe” by tradition, but is only a surface feature.
