Curcumin Supports Joint Health

A recent study reports that curcumin supplementation reduces symptoms in subjects with rheumatoid arthritis. The study included 45 subjects with rheumatoid arthritis. The subjects received either 500 mg curcumin daily, a common arthritis medication daily or both. Subjects in all three treatment groups showed improvement in their disease activity score. However, the subjects receiving curcumin demonstrated the highest percentage of improvement, and the improvement in scores was significantly greater than the subjects in the arthritis medication group. Furthermore, the study found no adverse events with curcumin supplementation.
